Post by Heatley's-After-BurnerAnaheim is in the cup final and there are only less than 200 posts in here,
including all the spam from Well Hello... Anaheim does not deserve the
Ducks -- let's move the Ducks north of the border too, like the predators.
Apparently, about three years ago all the Ducks fans migrated to the
official web site's newsgroup. I came in two years ago and have been
pretty much the greeter for all opposing playoff teams.
As for lack of support, you'd have no argument from me at any point
between 1997 and 2002. The Pond was muerte after Opening Day. One
trip to the finals later and it's back to the hot ticket.
Anaheim gets a bum rap for "not deserving" pro franchises for whatever
reason. The Angels sell out to I think 97% of their stadium, the
Ducks are close to capacity. Supercross has three races every January
at Anaheim and not a seat is open. If the Lakers or Clippers play a
game at the Pond, it's sold out. It just seems the area has this
inferiority complex because the Los Angeles Times only puts teams
within a bus route of their headquarters on the front page. All else
gets relegated to INSIDE the sports page.
